The process of creating is like breathing to me—it comes easily and often-times feels reflexive. I find a sense of peace and pleasure in using my hands to build likenesses of the things around me. Central themes in my work are animals, plants and people, as I am drawn to things from the natural world. My work is sculptural; I distill forms down to their essential lines that make them recognizable. Elegance and economy of visual information is important to me, while not sacrificing intricate details. I primarily make sculptures for commission, working collaboratively to help bring my clients ideas to life by rendering them in a surprising or novel way.
